Spring has sprung!!

I am so excited.  Once again, I was asked to design a few pieces to be sold in the museum store at Washington Irvings Sunnyside in Sleepy Hollow NY (http://www.hudsonvalley.org/historic-sites/washington-irvings-sunnyside).  This time, flowers were the theme.

I decided to try use Antique brass and lucite flowers as the basis for my designs.  I combined those elements with some Swarovski crystal to give each flower some contrast and that needed wow factor.  I tried mixing colors I normally would not mix.  And the result was a good one.  The shop bought four of my designs which I pictured below.  I am so excited to once again be featured in their store this spring.  If you are in the area, please visit Sunnyside and check out my earrings in their gift shop!

Wire Bracelets

A few months ago, I ordered a beautiful wire bracelet from Etsy.  It was so simple and I absolutely love wearing it.  It was made with thin wire and a small flower welded to it.  It has become my go to bracelet and I wear it almost everyday.  With this bracelet in mind, I decided to design a wire bracelet of my own.   I wanted to keep it simple and delicate.  I used a single Strawberry Quartz nugget and attached it to wire bracelet.  It has no clasp, instead it slides over your hand.

Please take a look and let me know your thoughts....would you wear this design, give it as a gift?  Let me know.

Bracelet retails for $15 and the set for $25.  Contact me through my facebook page if you are interested in purchasing!

Here is the link and a picture of the bracelet I purchased and the inspiration for my design:

Valentine's Day Jewelry ideas

So....Valentine's Day is coming.  If you didn't know, just walk into any retail store.  It is insane.  Christmas was barely off the shelves and I was seeing stuffed hearts and boxes of chocolate.  So crazy.  Of course, I am getting wrapped up in it, wire wrapped that is!  : )

I decided to create some simple designs that were simple and understated using just sterling silver wire and some sterling silver chain.  With some simple swirls to add some visual interest, I created 2 different heart pendants that I think are perfect for everyday wear.  Let me know what you think....

Jewelry sets

Over the last month, I have had my jewelry in craft shows and on sale in a Christmas pop-up store for local artists.  You will never guess what is selling the best....jewelry sets.  Almost all of my necklaces and bracelets that were packaged together with a pair of earrings has sold.  I am not sure if it the $5 off given when I sell something together as a set or if it is that people like buying sets in general.  It makes sense.  Most people do match their accessory pieces unless you are like me and have a hodge podge of pieces that you throw together and try to make it all work.  SOme people are so good at that.  I am not, which is why I decided that jewelry sets are the way to go.  Below, check out my latest set designs and let me know what you think....

My new beads....

My latest design incorporates these really fun beads that I purchased from Fire Mountain Gems.  I had been seeing a lot of the jewelry in stores using these beads so I wanted to see what I could come up with and I am pretty pleased with the results.  I combined sterling silver chain on half the necklace and beading wire on the rest.  I strung the new foil lined grey coin beads I had purchased with some Swarovski pearl in grey and Swarovski crystal in amethyst and here is the result:

I love this necklace.  I love that is is oversized, but not overwhelming.  I paired this with a light brown sweater and it looked great.  I am thinking I need to make some earrings to match....maybe the amethyst crystal with the grey foil lined bead on a single headpin?  What do you think?  I would love to get your suggestions.

Snowflakes

Have you noticed how early the stores put out Christmas decorations?  It is insane!  But I realized, sometimes you need a little extra time to get everything done you need to for the holiday which is why I wanted to share with you my Swarovski crystal snowflake ornaments now.  These beautiful snowflakes come in 2 different sizes, Small (3" across) and Large (4.5" across).  All snowflakes are made with Swarovski crystal and can be custom made to order in the color of your choice.  Some people like to use their birthstone, while others like more traditional Christmas colors.  My favorite is air blue opal shown below.  It just reminds me of a true snowflake.  Check out my designs below.  Please comment and leave me color suggestions.  I would love to hear from you....
